we wanted to understand why Gymnasium Students don't visit Vejle Library.
Despite the Library being within close walking distance from most Gymnasiums, students still constitute one of the smallest age groups represented.
This project is guided by the following questions : Why don't they visit the Library? What do they want from a Library? How and what can we design to enhance their engagement?
“Strategic Design : How to get Gymnasium Students to interact with the Future Culture House of Vejle (2023-28)” includes a strategic design roadmap that suggests four steps to implement for a more sustainable and inclusive future Culture House, with Gymnasium Students in mind. It includes design driven research, materials from three workshops with Gymnasium Students, and our main findings on the topic.
By turning things around and proposing a new way of working around our target group, our goal is to change their fixed perception and mindset of the library as of now and overall to attract them to the future Culture House.
