SCROLLING TIME
The aim of my website is to prompt users to reflect on the time they spend in front of screens. On arrival, they see a loading page that loops endlessly—unless they notice a small button in the bottom-right corner (appearing after 5 seconds) that leads to the print page. This delay ensures they remain on the site briefly before progressing.

Referencing Instagram, a platform central to my generation’s screen time, the site features three flexible columns filled with scrolling squares—mirroring the visual flow of Instagram posts. On desktop, three columns are shown; on mobile, just one, to replicate the look of Instagram’s mobile interface more closely.

The print reveals what happened in the real world while the user waited on the loading page. An algorithm calculates seven selected global events (births, deaths, marriages, etc.) based on the user's time on the site, making the data as realistic as possible.

Presented as a double-sided A3 poster:
  • Front: A colorful background with scattered event numbers, creating a visually striking “sea of data.”
  • Back: The same events are explained, matching the numbers on the front with their real-world meanings.
