METTRE EN PIÈCE

« Mettre en pièce » is my interpretation of the passage of time through drawing. It originated from contemplating a room within a house and envisioning how nature would reclaim
this space in the absence of humans. My inspiration drew
from Tokyo Genso’s work on post-apocalyptic visions,
sparking a profound intrigue withing the interaction between place and nature.

The core of the project revolves around a central room :
the first and last drawings encapsulating an evolution over time.
Exploring the interaction between place and nature, I selected four corners of the room. In each corner, a series of 3 to 4 drawings depicts distinct temporal phases. To unveil these temporal shifts and immerse viewers in the narrative, the pages need to be torn, creating a direct interaction with the story.

In terms of technique, I opted for colored pencils to leverage the medium’s grain, allowing me to play with textures and nuances in the drawings. This choice contributes to the overall sensory experience and adds depth to the exploration of time within
the narrative.
